The RIT BS in Applied Networking and Systems Administration (ANSA) degree is the first program of its kind. This program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012 - telephone: (410)347-7700. Housed in the RIT Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences (GCCIS), the ANSA degree was created two years ago to answer the increasing need for advanced studies in network infrastructure, wireless communications, systems and security. Students that graduate from the ANSA program are the best in the world at what they do. It is a program that is available nowhere else but RIT. Currently this program has over 350 students.
The BS in ANSA degree was created for those who wish to obtain an in-depth education in one of several related areas including network administrator, systems administrator and wireless network administrator. This coursework includes a complement of core courses which gives the students a firm foundation in networking, systems and network administration. This is followed by advanced study were the students select five advanced courses of their choice from over a dozen offered. This allows the student to pursue their areas of interest. Pervasive throughout all of the coursework is security. All courses contain security modules with some focusing entirely on security.
