Step 6 ~ A box will then display the I: drive (the default images). You can restore a standard image at this point, or you may select the S: drive from the top menu to restore one of your previously saved student images.
For those students in syslab, the S: drive is mapped to the Jabba server. If you are on the Chewy server, you will see an additional mapping for Y:. Select that drive for your student image files if your instructor placed you on this server. Select the image you would like to restore and leave all remaining screen prompts at the defaults. The selected image will then begin downloading to your PC. NOTE: IMAGES MAY ONLY BE RESTORED ON THE SAME TYPE OF MACHINE THEY WERE CREATED ON. Example: If the image was created on a Syslab PC, it may not be restored to a projects or netlab PC as the hardware does not match. |

Step 6 ~ Select the source drive. You are asked which hard drive you want to create a ghost image. As these computers only have 1 hard drive, select the "OK" button.
Step 7 ~ The next screen will prompt you for where to save the image to and a name. From the top drop down box, select the S: drive that is mapped to your student login account. (For students on Chewy in Syslab, select Y: from this drop down box.) Then enter a filename for your image and move forward. Step 8 ~ At the compression question, select "FAST" and keep any other defaults. Your PC image will begin to save up. Please remember that in most cases, you only have 8 GB of space to save all your images in. Once imaging is complete, it will return you to the Ghost login screen. Smart users will then select from the menu system to verify their images before leaving the labs. If the image has any issues, ghost will report it to you and you will be able to perform these steps again. If you choose not to verify and the image is corrupt for any reason, it will be lost and cannot be restored. |
