Lab Rules

  1. No Eating or Smoking and all drinks must be in closed containers.
  2. No reserving of benches or equipment without permission from the lab employees and for a maximum of 30 minutes to preserve student work. (The Lab Worker will post a sign on the bench noting it is reserved, the date and time)
  3. Abuse of Lab Equipment will not be tolerated.
  4. Lab equipment is not to be removed from the lab without permission.
  5. Imaging disks are not for personal use.
  6. All checked out equipment must be returned to the cage when finished or when the lab closes (whichever comes first) or you may be charged for the replacement item cost.
  7. Benches in the lab during open hours are on a first come first serve basis.
  8. Production equipment such as servers, room routers, and room switches are not to be configured, attacked or modified in any manner beyond approved class work by students.
  9. No students are allowed in the cage at any time
  10. No one is entitled to unlimited time in the lab
  11. If open hours are at the same time as a class lab (i.e. ½ the lab is open), the faculty reserve the right to ask students to leave if they are disturbing the class or additional space is needed.
  12. Open hours that share time with a class lab are cancelled during midterm practical and final practical weeks.
  13. Cell Phone conversations must be taken outside.
  14. In the security lab, no item may be attached to the benches, PC's or cabinet equipment without instructor approval. This includes, but is not limited to (PDA's, USB keys, Laptops, Cell Phones, Floppy Disks, etc.)
  15. Data in the security lab may not be removed without instructor approval in any format.
  16. Open lab hours are not guaranteed, check the website for any modification.
