Systems Administration Lab

The Systems Administration Lab is used to teach student to plan, implement, and maintain operating systems and services for end users. Students install, configure and maintain services and protocols on a number of different Operating Systems (including VMWare virtual OS’s). Windows and Linux interoperability, scripting, group policy, server modifications/enhancements and services are studies in this lab. Twenty student benches reside in the lab. Each bench holds four 3.4GHz PC class machines that can be imaged to any of 16 different operating systems and a hub is included for packet capturing and analysis. Additional room equipment includes a Cisco 6509 core switch, Cisco PIX Firewall and a File Server to provide 3TB of student imaging space.
