Graduate Certificates

The Networking, Security & Systems Administration department offers the following advanced certificates at the graduate level. These programs are intended to provide computing professionals with the skills needed to advance their careers or to prepare for graduate study with us.

Advanced Certificate in Networking & System Administration

This certificate program is designed to provide foundation theory and best practices in the administration of computer networks for individuals who have had little or no formal networking education, but who want to enter this field.  It can be completed either on-campus or at a distance in online-learning format.

The program is composed of 5 courses for a total of 20 quarter-credits of graduate study. Download the handbook about our advanced certificates for program goals, course details, prerequisite requirements, availability, etc. Intended for individuals who have solid object-oriented programming skills, the program covers the prerequisite knowledge necessary for the MS in Networking & System Administration which is also offered by this department.

Advanced Certificate in Information Assurance

Designed for individuals who have previous experience in computer networking and system administration, this certificate program provides the skills necessary to assume job responsibilities in network security and information assurance.  Topics covered include network security theory and practices for enterprise-level organizations. The program can be completed on-campus, with all but one course also available in online-learning format.

Advanced Certificate in Network Planning & Design

This certificate program provides individuals who have prior networking and system administration experience with the knowledge and expertise necessary to design computer networks, to analyze network performance, and to manage networking projects. It can be completed either on-campus or at a distance in online-learning format.
